Minecraft Texture Packs 2025-01-04
Just a quick collection of the resource packs I use in Minecraft! This is for Java edition, as I don't play much Bedrock these days.
You won't need any fancy tools to install these, just drop them into your packs folder. They're all compatible with 1.21.3, despite what Minecraft and CurseForge might tell you.
The load order is important: From top to bottom, they should be loaded in the order in which they appear on this page.
AstraLex shaders
One of my absolute favourite shaders are AstraLex, an edit of BSL shaders with a beautiful night sky.
Rainbow XP bar
It's exactly what it says on the tin: It turns your XP bar rainbow. Also affects XP orbs!
Colourful Containers Dark Mode
A UI overhaul for crafting tables, chests, and just about any other block that brings up a GUI.
Fancy GUI overhaul
Similar to the colourful containers pack, this pack overhauls the UI. I prefer colourful containers' block UIs, but Fancy also applies some edits to the HUD.
Techy's Bushy Leaves
This pack adds some protrusions to leaf blocks. It's a small adjustment, but makes a big difference!
Vanilla Experience+
My favourite thing about this experience pack is how it changes the texture of spawn eggs to more clearly reflect the mobs they're associated with. It also adds better flowers, animated ender chests, sticky piston sides, and a whole lot more minor quality-of-life texture changes.
Nature X
Some great modifications to nature-related blocks. Plants feel a lot less blocky and a lot more bushy, and biomes feel much less clean, far more alive.
Icons
Wow, this one was difficult to look up. Icons adds some fun little icons to the game's menus.
Baby Animals Remastered
This pack edits the textures of baby animals to be less like smaller versions of their adult counterparts, and more like cute but anatomically distinct mobs.
Medieval Minecart
This pack does exactly one thing: It changes the appearance of minecarts to look less like an iron box and more like a fit-for-purpose mining vehicle. Fair warning, I had to wait more than 2 minutes to download this mod. If only there was a link to download it directly!
Mini Ender Dragon
This pack turns phantoms into cute tiny ender dragons. You'll almost feel bad for killing them! Almost. Who even voted for these things?
Better Ores 3D
Another one that's exactly what it says on the tin: The ores are better, and they're 3D.
Astraliyte's Animated Textures
There aren't really many screenshots to be shared about this one, but it adds subtle animations to a variety of items in the inventory and containers.
Torches Reimagined
This pack adds a fixture to wall-mounted torches, as well as applying an animated fire texture to their placed model as well as a 3d model while held in the hand. This includes soul and redstone torches!
Better Dogs
Adds a bunch of different dog breeds!
Item Physics
Now items you drop will actually lay on the floor!
Visual Enchantments
Now you can actually see what enchantments you have at a glance! This one has saved me loads of time trying to sort through enchanted books.
