Today, I finished George Orwell's Animal Farm. This comes after reading Nineteen Eighty-Four last year, which I quite enjoyed.

It might just be that I had some foreknowledge of the themes going into it, but I feel like it made its point in a really digestible way. The demonstration of the long-term consequences of greed and authoritarianism through the lens of the shorter lifetime of farm animals was great, but I feel like it also did a good job at showing how it develops from systems that were invented with the intention of fairness.
